If clients need to book themselves online, Acuity offers a service Book Visit Now does not. But if you prefer to schedule appointments directly and want client records, treatment documentation, and business management tools in one Apple app, Book Visit Now takes a different approach.
Acuity offers subscription plans with different limits and features, including the number of bookable calendars and available client communication tools. It offers a trial rather than an ongoing free plan. Payment-processing charges from your chosen provider are separate from the scheduling subscription.

Plan limits and features. Acuity's plans differ in calendar capacity and communication features. Check the plan that supports the number of providers, rooms, and reminders your business needs rather than comparing only the entry-level subscription price.
How you contact clients. Acuity offers automated reminders as part of its scheduling service. If you prefer to send appointment notifications yourself, consider whether you need a separate automated reminder subscription.
Client records alongside your calendar. Book Visit Now keeps appointments, client history, treatment notes, before-and-after photos, and service and product purchases together. You can review a client's history when preparing for their next appointment.
Appointment notifications without an additional subscription. The Book Visit Now Appointment Notification Center lets you review upcoming appointments and send notifications to clients through Apple Messages or email. You choose when to send each notification. Messages are not sent automatically, and there are no additional Book Visit Now messaging subscriptions or message credits to buy. Your carrier's usual messaging rates may apply.
Completed intake forms in client profiles. Scan a completed paper intake form directly into a customer's profile using your Apple device. Keep the scanned document with the client's other records without purchasing a separate document-management add-on. Book Visit Now does not provide online forms that clients fill out and submit electronically.
Multiple providers and flexible scheduling. Manage multiple providers, service locations, recurring appointments, business hours, time off, and appointments containing more than one service. Book Visit Now does not charge a separate subscription for each provider or calendar.
Business tools included. Book Visit Now includes service and product management, client purchase history, PDF invoices, business reporting, and data exports without separate feature subscriptions.
A free plan without a trial deadline. Book Visit Now includes every feature for up to ten active clients at no charge, with no time limit. Pro removes the active-client limit for $24.99 a month.
A dedicated Apple app. Use Book Visit Now on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, with iCloud synchronization across your Apple devices. It also integrates with Apple Contacts, while keeping its own appointment and client records in the app.
No online self-booking. Acuity lets customers select available times and book appointments online. With Book Visit Now, you create and manage appointments yourself.
No automated appointment reminders. Book Visit Now includes manual appointment notifications through Messages and email, but it does not automatically send reminders at scheduled intervals.
No integrated online payments or deposits. Acuity can connect with payment providers for booking-related payments. Book Visit Now does not process payments or collect online deposits; you can use a separate payment provider.
No online intake-form builder. Acuity offers forms that clients can complete electronically. Book Visit Now lets you scan completed paper forms into client profiles, but does not provide client-facing online forms.
No client-facing class or group booking. Book Visit Now manages appointments and provider schedules, but does not provide Acuity's online class and group booking workflow.
No Android or browser-based access. Book Visit Now is designed for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It also does not offer separate staff logins with individual permissions.
Acuity provides those workflows directly. If they are essential to your business, moving to Book Visit Now would require additional services or a change in how you schedule appointments.
Before canceling Acuity, obtain the client information, appointment records, and form responses you need to retain. Check Acuity's current export options and keep copies of your records for reference.
If your clients are already in Apple Contacts, you can use those contacts when setting up Book Visit Now. Otherwise, import the relevant contact details into Apple Contacts. Importing contacts does not automatically move Acuity appointment history, custom fields, intake-form responses, or payment records into Book Visit Now.
If you have completed paper intake forms, you can scan them directly into the appropriate client profiles. Tell regular clients how to request appointments going forward, since they will no longer use your Acuity self-booking page.
The Book Visit Now Appointment Notification Center lets you contact clients about upcoming appointments through Messages or email without an additional messaging subscription.
